Summary

  • Default basemap is daily VIIRS true color (Blue Marble stays in the dropdown).
  • Layer panel collapsed on load; .lp-note manuals removed; geofence block sits under Basemap.
  • Default overlays: basemap + FIRMS only.
  • Hide MKT ticker while STANDBY/empty; NEWS-only dock; chokepoint buttons off the map (select remains).
  • Drop Orbitron / "GLOBAL SITUATIONAL AWARENESS TERMINAL"; IBM Plex; news pins as small circles.

Rebased on current master (geofence PRs #47/#48 already merged). Does not push master.

Test plan

  • pytest tests/test_hud_chrome.py tests/test_geofence_frontend.py
  • Load map: VIIRS daily, FIRMS heat, layers collapsed, no MKT dashes, no strait button row
  • Geofence Finish/Cancel + inbox still present

Satellite-first chrome: daily VIIRS preferred, layer rail collapsed on
load, geofence after basemap, FIRMS-only default overlays, hide MKT
standby ticker, Strait select instead of buttons, IBM Plex instead of
Orbitron, news as 6px circleMarkers.
.ticker stayed at height:50% after MKT was hidden, leaving an empty
half-bar. .dock.news-only .ticker is now 100% of the 32px dock.
